Congregational Care
The Congregational Care Ministry
The Congregational Care ministry serves two primary functions: providing support during difficult times and coordinating community-building efforts within the church. This ministry offers assistance to church members facing sorrow, illness, or other challenges through hospital visits, meals, communion, and prayer. It also oversees hospitality efforts such as ushers, greeters, and the fellowship table to nurture relationships within the congregation.
Liturgist
Lay liturgists share in the order of worship on Sunday mornings for worship services. Typical duties include leading the call to worship and reading scripture (usually the Old and New Testament lessons). Text is available in advance.
Hospitality
Welcome Team: Greeters, Connect Desk Staff, and Ushers all help to make our Sunday morning guests and regular attenders feel welcome and answer questions. All services are blessed with welcome teams. Two greeters are posted at each of the three main entrances (Sanctuary, Atrium, Children's entrances).
Hospitality Table: Like baking and cooking? Lynne Miller seeks volunteers to prepare baked goods and appetizers for the weekly hospitality table. Contact if you have questions or are interested.
Contact Joy at the church office with questions. If you are interested in a hospitality role, please complete the form at the bottom of the page.
Love in Action
Love in Action provides short-term meals to those who need a little extra help following the birth of a baby, a stay in the hospital, a death in the family, or other similar situations. If you or an immediate family member would benefit from a few meals, complete the form at the bottom of this page.
Prayer Chain
If you have a heart for prayer then we need you on the prayer chain. The prayer chain receives weekly updates on those asking for prayer on the connect cards from the weekly bulletins or from phone calls that come into the church office. Your task is to genuinely pray for the names on the list and the needs expressed. Complete the form at the bottom of the page to join the prayer team.
Visitation
Pastor of Congregational Care, Elizabeth Brown, visits with members who are hospitalized in the short term or are in extended care facilities and are unable to physically get to church for weekly worship. If you or an immediate family member are in need of a visit, contact the church office or complete the form below.
